About

Sean and Sarah met at college, but their passion for God’s mission in the Czech Republic is what brought them together. While serving in Czech as a summer intern for Josiah Venture in 2009, Sarah’s eyes were opened to see God’s light shining brightly into the darkness of Central Europe. After returning, she shared about her experience with Sean, who became an intern in 2010. During this summer, he saw a need for biblical training to support the growing church. After getting married, they began to dream of training Czech leaders with the Bible and theology.

In 2020, this dream came true when they joined Josiah Venture and moved to the Czech Republic. Now, Sean and Sarah equip young leaders all over Central and Eastern Europe. Sean is the Director of Josiah Venture Research, which informs ministries to cultivate youth discipleship. He also teaches theology in partnership with Moorlands College to run a European Campus for students in this region. They both serve in their local church’s young adult ministry and disciple young people in their city of Ostrava.

Grateful

It was a normal morning as I was walking with my son to drop him off at school when we passed a woman wearing a t-shirt that said “Grateful” on it. It was written in cursive, ending with a heart. “Huh,” I thought, “That’s odd.” I wouldn’t even notice such a shirt if I lived in America. 2024 Fall Conference – Word Formed

In today’s world, young people face a constant barrage of conflicting messages about identity, truth, and relationships. But where can they turn for real answers? This year’s Fall Conference was dedicated to helping young leaders engage with the transformative power of Scripture in fresh, meaningful ways. The theme of this year’s conference, “Word Formed,” focused on helping young people transition from seeing Scripture as an obligation to embracing it as a source of light, life, and clarity. Through this shift, they can form a more profound understanding of their identity, convictions, and relationships, preparing them for a hopeful and resilient future.
