Missionary Bio
About
Karel has been serving with Josiah Venture (JV) Czech (KAM) since 2008. He grew up attending a traditional church but never knew the Bible or God personally. He became a Christian while studying at the Technical University of Ostrava. He has been actively involved in a local church in his home town of Opava since 1992 as an elder, shepherd, home group leader, preacher, and leader of outreach programs. After 14 years in business working as a manager, he experienced God’s calling to join KAM in 2008. He has been serving as deputy CEO, CFO/COO, and he has overseen various areas of the ministry. Karel started-up partner relationships with denominations/churches, regional relational support for youth leaders, sport ministry, as well as CRM implementation.
Since July 2023, Karel has been part of of the JV International team as the Capacity Building Catalyst. In this role, he is helping not only JV, but also other Christian Ministries in Czech and Europe to thrive (church planting, raising young leaders / church-planters, consulting).
His desire and prayer is to see many people coming to Jesus Christ and finding their spiritual home in local churches. He loves to pray, provide pastoral care, and offer encouragement. With his wife Petra, they raised 3 foster children.
