Rachel’s first experience working with Josiah Venture (JV) was in 2011 when she went to the Czech Republic as a part of a short-term team to help lead an English camp. After this camp, Rachel began to feel called to missions in Europe. Over the next few years, Rachel returned to the Czech Republic several times with other short-term teams and as a summer intern in 2015. During her internship, Rachel began to feel called to work with Josiah Venture in one of their newer countries—Germany. The year after her internship, in connection with her B.A. in International Studies, Rachel was given the opportunity to study in Germany for a whole year. It was during this year that Rachel reached out to the JV team in Germany, and, in 2018, she joined them as an Extended Summer Intern (ESI). During her time in Germany as an ESI, she led the summer intern team. Then, in the fall, she worked with a local church plant by leading their youth in a small town in the German state of Saxon-Anhalt. Today, Rachel is serving full-time with Josiah Venture in the capital city of Saxon-Anhalt, Magdeburg. In addition to being the JV Intern Director in Germany, Rachel works with her local church and their youth group.
