Hungary

General Description

Hungary sits right in the middle of Europe and boasts beautiful architecture with magnificent, centuries-old churches. But, like much of Europe, those churches are cold and empty with less than 3% of the country professing faith in Jesus Christ as their savior. Many young people would say that they believe in God, and have been to church a few times, but most don’t know him personally, and they are thirsting for the gospel.

Josiah Venture in Hungary is in the foundational phase of establishing deep mentoring relationships with local churches as they equip their youth to be “disciples who make disciples” and thus lead to revival across the country. Our summer ministries play a key role in this mission.

Our summer internship involves first preparing the programs for multi-camps (offering English/art/sport/music workshops) or other evangelistic events, supporting training sessions that equip the local church in discipleship and evangelism, and then participating in three to four, week-long camps. The most important work our interns do is to encourage the local believers, empower them in their ministry, and also love the students who participate in these events.

This is a high-energy ministry that requires a great love for people, lots of teamwork, and a total reliance on the Lord. Be prepared to be challenged and stretched in numerous ways, to grow deeper in your relationship with the Lord, to make life-long cross-cultural friendships, and to have one of the most rewarding experiences of your life!
