Ruthanne first served with Josiah Venture in Slovakia at an English Camp in 2011. She had been leading college ministry for many years and had taken college students on mission trips before, so when God made her aware of the need in Slovakia, she signed them up to go. That first trip opened her eyes to the need for evangelism in Central and Eastern Europe. She fell in love with the students she met and gained such a respect for how JV is doing ministry. Later, when her career in medicine ended due to budget cuts, she wondered if God might be opening a door for her to serve with JV, but there were no stateside positions available. Instead, God directed her to the Navajo Nation where she worked as a missionary for 8 months, equipping and encouraging a small church there. Eventually, God opened that door with JV giving her an opportunity to become the Intern Coordinator. Ruthanne is helping the Josiah Venture Interns prepare for overseas service. With her experience in both missions and college-age ministry, it is a perfect fit. She is excited about partnering with North American churches in raising awareness about the opportunities available to college students wanting to serve God internationally.
