Josh and Katie's world collided on Oak Street beach in Chicago in 1998—just blocks from where they were attending college. While students at Moody Bible Institute, they grew a deep desire to train young leaders in disciple-making. Upon graduating in 2000, Josh accepted his first youth ministry pastorate. Josh and Katie have been serving in full-time ministry ever since.
Josh is the director of the Josiah Venture Leadership Lab, equipping young leaders in North America to fulfill Christ’s commission through the local church. Many young leaders have found themselves in complex and uncharted terrain. The Lab is a greenhouse of innovation adapting the best practices of Josiah Venture's leadership principles from the past 30 years.
While serving in the Lab, Katie also works part-time with the Human Resources team, supporting the complexities of JV staff in 16+ countries. In addition, Katie is the Operations Director for Concentric, a global alliance of organizations like Josiah Venture. Concentric’s mission is to equip leaders for movements that multiply disciples, leaders, and healthy churches. Katie is honored to support disciple-making movements locally and globally.
The Yates enjoy hosting friends and family around great food and fellowship. You can find them frolicking through the woods, biking down the mountain, or sipping quality beverages at local cafes.
