At Josiah Venture, your privacy is of utmost importance. This privacy policy applies to the website http://www.josiahventure.com and web based Event Management System (EMS), owned and operated by Josiah Venture (“We”,“Us”). This privacy policy describes how we collect and use the personal information you provide on our web site and EMS platform. It also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access and update this information.

1. Data Collected through the EMS Service

Our Clients may ask you for various types of personal information, (including but not limited to the categories listed in section 2 of this policy), depending on their needs. Josiah Venture collects information under the direction of its Clients and works with its Clients to help them provide notice to their users concerning the purpose for which their personal information is collected.
An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, delete inaccurate data or request they no longer be contacted, should direct his or her query to the Josiah Venture EMS account holder they interact with directly, (the data controller). We may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the service agreements with our Clients.

If the Client requests that we remove the data on their behalf, we will respond to their request within 30 days.
We will retain your information and the information we process on behalf of clients, for as long as those accounts are active or as needed to provide services. We will retain and use information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Co-Branding

Josiah Venture co-brands with organizations who share common mission and vision, as well as churches that perform events and activities with Josiah Venture. PII may only be passed between these partners if permission has been given by the owner of the data. An individual who seeks to have their PII deleted or to restrict sharing of this information can contact the Josiah Venture EMS account holder they interact with directly or can contact office@josiahventure.com.

2. Information Collection and Use

In the course of using our website and EMS platform, we may collect the following personal information from you:

  • Contact Information such as name, email address, mailing address, phone number
  • Billing Information such as credit card number, and billing address
  • Unique Identifiers such as user name, account number, password
  • Demographic information such as age, education, and gender

We use this information to:

  • Send you requested information
  • Confirm your participation at an event
  • Send you information about upcoming events
  • Process and confirm payment for an event
  • Process and confirm donations
  • Respond to customer service requests
  • Administer your account

3. Information Sharing

We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. This includes donor information that is collected both online and offline.

We may provide your personal information to companies that provide services to help us with our business activities such as processing your payment when you make a donation or pay for an event. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.

4. User Access and Choice

If your personal information changes, or if you no longer desire our services, you may correct, update, amend, ask to have it removed from a public forum, directory or testimonial on our site or deactivate it by making the change on our member information page (if you are an EMS account holder), by emailing our Customer Support at office@josiahventure.com or by contacting us by telephone or postal mail at the contact information listed below. We will respond to your request to access within 30 days.

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide you services and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Opt-out Preferences

If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, you may choose to stop receiving our newsletter or marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails, accessing the email preferences in your account settings page or you can contact us at office@josiahventure.com

5. Tracking Technologies / Cookies

We Josiah Venture and our partners (i.e. donor processor and accounting services), affiliates, or analytics or service providers (i.e. donor support and database provider), use technologies such as cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts, to analyze trends, administer the website, tracking users’ movements around the website, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual and aggregated basis.

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on this site. However, we do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.

We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser. We use session cookies to stores settings and know which users are logged into the system. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. We use persistent cookies to store session ID cookies. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file.

If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some areas of our site, such as administration of events and participants, will be limited.

Web Beacons / Gifs

We employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personal information.

Flash/HTML5

We use Local Storage, such as HTML5, to store content information and preferences. Third parties with whom we partner to provide certain features on our website or to display advertising based upon your web browsing activity also use Flash cookies or HTML5 to collect and store information. Analytics / Log Files

3rd Party Tracking

The use of cookies by our partners, affiliates, service providers and 3rd party embedded technologies on our site is not covered by our privacy policy. We do not have access or control over these cookies.

We partner with a third party to either display advertising on our website or to manage our advertising on other sites. If you are a member of the Josiah Venture organization, or one of our partner organizations, we will list you in our publicly accessible partner directory. If you wish to request removal of your information from our directory, you can contact us via email or using the information listed below.

Our Web site includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button, Google+ button, Feeds and other Widgets, such as the Share this button or interactive mini-programs that run on our site.
