EXIT 316

Dear Friends,

In August I asked you to pray for an unprecedented opportunity that had opened for sharing the gospel in the Czech Republic - Exit 316. As you may remember, this is a weekly broadcast on national television designed to teach principles from the Bible to young people.

Exit 316 began airing in September and is broadcast at 6:00 every Wednesday evening. The show is watched by between 120,000 and 160,000 people every week. This kind of penetration is amazing when you consider that Czech is in one of the most atheistic nations on earth!

We have had many letters and responses to the show, but the one that was the most surprising to me was from the Minister of Education. Here is what she wrote in a press release to schoolteachers.

Project Exit 316 has as its goal to present Christianity in practical life. The themes of each episode are presented with tolerance and tact, and attempt to bring answers to the pressing questions of contemporary youth. Because of this it is recommended for enriching the instruction of social studies in the second level of basic school and in all types of high schools.

Perhaps the most exiting part for me is the 300 evangelistic small groups that have sprung up all over the country around the show. Meeting in homes, these groups of young people watch the program together, and then discuss the topic and a Biblical text with the help of small group materials that we have prepared. Every week we hear of someone coming to Christ because of the efforts of these young people.

Would you be in special prayer this month for this crucial outreach effort? Pray for the production team and for the hundreds of small group leaders. And pray that the Lord will open the door for the show to continue on into next year.
