Brad became involved with Josiah Venture in the summer of 2000 through English camps, and returned for many summers after that. He moved to the Czech Republic in 2005 to continue leading camps and work with a youth group in the city of Bohumin.

Lucie first came into contact with Josiah Venture in 1998 when she attended a Christian camping trip. Soon after this she became a Christian and a member of the church youth group in her home town, Frydek-Mistek.

Lucie and Brad met in 2005 when they led an English camp together for Lucie's youth group. In 2007, they fell in love, and were married on Valentine's Day, 2008. They will move to the city of Vsetin in the fall of 2008 to serve together in a young church called Majak (The Lighthouse). There they will begin a junior high ministry in the church and organize English camps for that region.
