In the fall of 1997 a JV missionary visited Greg’s youth ministry class at Moody Bible Institute. He talked about an opportunity for a summer internship in the Czech Republic. This was right at the time when God had been stirring his heart for overseas youth ministry. Could this be God’s timing? Greg thought that was a pretty good assessment, so he spent the summer of 1998 as an intern in Czech. God clearly spoke that this was where He wanted Greg, but not yet.

Greg spent the next few years in vocational and volunteer youth ministry getting experience. But, God’s call to the Czech Republic was “burning in his bones”. Finally God gave Greg the okay and he moved to the Czech Republic fulltime in January of 2006. He currently lives in Cesky Tesin on the eastern tip of Czech and works with two youth groups in the cities of Tabor and Bohumilice. In the summers he leads intern teams like the one he was on in 1998, coaching Czech youth groups through English Camps.  On the side Greg moonlights as JV’s photographer at large.
